Eileen Tanne began her marketing and event planning career
in 1976 through her association with World Team Tennis and
Billie Jean King. Eileen credits Ms. King with inspiring her
commitment to enlighten and empower women. Ms. Tanne was marketing
director for Networking Magazine for six
years. Networking, a Long Island based publication, targets
women in the business community.
In 1998, Tanne formulated a large-scale women’s event
for a tri-station radio group that attracted the attention
of all local media and hundreds of women. Chancellor Media’s
Long Island Women Today Making A Difference was the catalyst
that compelled Eileen to announce the formulation of ET Connections.
A few years later, ET Connections had grown national in scope
and provides venues for major corporations and small businesses
to market to women.
In
1999, Ms. Tanne was able to count Ms. Magazine
as a major client. Feminist icon, Gloria Steinem, served as
Chairperson of Liberty Media for Women, LLC, former owners
of Ms. Magazine. Working in tandem with their Marketing Division,
Ms. Tanne marketed the successful Ms. Millennium Conference
and special events with Gloria Steinem and Marcia Ann Gillespie,
Ms. Magazine Editor-in-Chief and
President of Liberty Media for Women.
Tanne
launched her website, www.LIWomen.com
in September of 2000. Within months, Newsday,
Long Island Business News and other regional
publications featured LIWomen.com as the resource for women
to access for information on self-development and self-discovery,
as well as a place to turn for information on seminars, business,
health, spirituality, and other issues that affect women on
a daily basis.
In 2002, Ms. Tanne was Project Consultant for WALK 97.5's
Long Island Women Today Creating Our Destiny and Event Coordinator
for Women On The Job's Where Are The Women? project. She is
proud to have co produced the highly acclaimed national conference
Women ~ Business ~ Spirituality: A New Formula For Leadership
held in New York City. (www.WomenBusinessSpirituality.com)
In 2004, Eileen worked with B. Litrell Communications Corp
on the programming for the Office Depot Success Strategies
for Businesswomen national conference in Boca Raton, Florida.
Eileen has contributed to the furtherance of many women’s
causes during the course of her career. She has been a national
trustee of the National Association of Mothers’ Centers,
served nine years on the board of the Long Island Center for
Business and Professional Women and is a founding board member
of the US Women’s Chamber of Commerce Long Island Chapter.
She is the recipient of Women On The Job’s Year 2002
Advocacy Award. Eileen has been a guest on several regional
radio shows and featured on National Public Radio’s
Marketplace. She has been interviewed many times
by Newsday and her work has been
featured in the New York Times.
