New York, NY . . . October 22, 2003 . . . Caryl Herschman,
President, Advancing Women in Automotive Retailing Enterprises
(AWARE), announced the launch of two initiatives - a membership
drive and an educational seminar, sponsored by Manheim. AWARE's
mission is to be known as the resource for and about women
in the auto retailing industry. Both programs offer a FREE
hard-covered book poised to boost careers - “How to
Get RICH Selling Cars to Women!” - written by Rebecca
Maddox and Dr. Marti Smye.
"It's most appropriate for us to offer these programs
at this time. Women are joining the automotive retail industry
in greater numbers and we believe this organization will provide
the avenue for them to share their experiences," said
Ms. Herschman.
According to AWARE VP Diane Barton of Manheim, “AWARE’s
leadership program, focusing on how leaders are made, is of
special interest to women in all aspects of the auto industry.
It’s very useful for women seeking success to find and
associate with women who have achieved that success. They
are truly role models and much can be learned from them.”
Among the women presenting are: Dr. Marti Syme, co-author,
“How to Get RICH Selling Cars to Women!” Tamara
Darvish (DARCARS Automotive Group), Jo Ann Beal (Central Carolina
Nissan), Linda Mullins (JM&A Group), Beverly Wines (HR
Asyst Solutions), and Annette D. Ganassi (Annette Ganassi
Pontiac-GMC).
The membership drive invites more women to join the organization
- women who will step forward with their support of other
women in the automotive retailing industry. “By visiting
AWARE’s website – awareforwomen.org – new
members can download the membership form and indicate how
they can be a resource for and about women in the auto retailing
industry. They will be asked to share their knowledge and
connections with AWARE’s members through our educational
seminars and on our web page,” said AWARE’s Marketing
Chair, Zvia Herrmann of Car and Driver/Road and Track, NY.
Awareforwomen.org now offers a web page called “Women
Speak!” Herein, AWARE posts interviews with women on
the path to success.
