| The Long Island Chapter of the U.S. Women's
Chamber of Commerce, New York State Affiliate, has announced
the organizations to be honored at its First Annual
Diversity and Cultural Awareness Awards, being held
at a celebratory luncheon on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at the
Hilton Long Island in Melville. Those being honored exemplify
and implement the mission of embracing the benefits of diverse
and multi-cultural representation in the workplace, and for
championing the diversity of their constituents. Honorees
are as follows:
Corporate: JPMorgan Chase Middle Market
Group of Long Island and Queens
Education: Hofstra University
Not-For-Profit:
Visionary Award: Long Island Fund for
Women and Girls
Leadership Award: Hi-Hello Child Care Center,
Inc.
Initiator Award: Adelphi NY Statewide Breast
Cancer Hotline and Support Program
Groundbreaker Award: Middle Country Library
Foundation
According to Diversity Council and Luncheon Co-Chair, Mindy
Ferrentino Wolfle, “The Chamber is delighted with the
response to our request for nominations. It shows us that
there are fine organizations doing business on Long Island
that attach importance to diversity and cultural awareness,
both in the workplace and in the prevailing community.”
Tickets to the event are $60 per person, or $600 for tables
