Frank M. Delape, CLU, ChFC, managing
director and a founding member of Coordinated Planning Group,
an office of MetLife Financial Services, has announced an
all-out drive to recruit women financial advisors at his Melville
firm. According to Delape, “For too many years, this
has been a male-driven field, one in which women professionals
have been underrepresented in proportion to women in the population.
According to the National Underwriter Company, the spending
power of American women is currently greater than the entire
economy of Japan. It’s time our industry caught up with
the absolute force of women in the economy. Of course, our
male financial advisors are thoroughly capable of serving
the needs of our female clients. Yet it’s undeniable
that the W2W (woman to woman) market is an increasingly sought-after
one.”
In an article entitled, “Why Financial Services Companies
Are Recruiting More Women Advisors,” by Sherri DuMond
in the March 10, 2005 issue of the National Underwriter Edition,
a number of reasons are put forward as to why financial services
offer a fine career opportunity for women. Among the reasons
are: flexibility to meet the needs of raising children and
tending to a family; the non-existence of a glass ceiling
in professional growth; and not the least, the strong woman-to-woman
relationships that develop between advisor and client. According
to writer DuMond, women “respond well to messages that
stress the flexibility and income potential the career offers.
Benefits, training and the opportunity to ‘do good’
also resonate with women.” Delape concurs. “We
are particularly interested in women who have found their
niche in financial services and are looking for a supportive,
comfortable environment in which they can grow their careers.”
Coordinated Planning Group occupies a luxury suite at 225
Broadhollow Road in Melville. Its proximity to both the Northern
Parkway and LIE, coupled with the amenities of a concierge
service and on-site restaurant, help to make the work environment
particularly accommodating. Delape adds, “We have a
great group of professionals whose entrepreneurial spirit
and team mindset create the perfect balance to succeed in
this field. We’re looking forward to welcoming several
top notch women to our ranks this year.”
Coordinated Planning Group, an office of MetLife, was founded
in 1999 to provide clients with an array of financial services
offered by professionals dedicated to a philosophy of quality,
service and integrity. The firm provides professional advice
concerning estate analysis and conservation, corporate benefit
arrangements, business succession planning, asset protection
strategies, wealth accumulation and preservation, retirement
planning and deferred compensation funding, life insurance,
and salary continuation programs. CPG’s associates are
actively involved in numerous industry-related associations,
enabling them to stay on the cutting edge of the financial
services industry.
