DRESS FOR SUCCESS/NASSAU COUNTY TO HOLD FUNDRAISER ON OCT. 19

-- Event Celebrating Women’s Independence, Empowerment and Success to Honor Leaders in the Community and in the World of Fashion/Beauty --

The Nassau County Chapter of Dress for Success?, which helps low-income women make the transition from public assistance to self-sufficiency by providing them with interview/career clothing and workplace reentry preparation, will be holding its first Gala Fundraiser to raise money for the not-for-profit organization. The fundraiser, which will consist of a cocktail party and fashion show, will be honoring four individuals who have been singled out for their commitment to women on Long Island within their respective industries.

Entitled “Suited Up and Ready to Go”, the Dress for Success Nassau County fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, October 19 at the Garden City Hotel from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Honorees at the event will be Richard Calcasola, founder of Maximus Salon and Total Beauty Day Spa; Barbara Mosca, a principal at Edward Jones Investments; Neil Sadick, M.D., of Sadick Aesthetic Surgery and Dermatology; and Kay Unger, Co-Founder/Head Designer at Kay Unger New York. The fashion show will feature clothes by Kay Unger New York, with hairstyles/make-up provided by Maximus Salon and Day Spa.

Tickets for the October 19 Dress for Success “Suited Up and Ready to Go” Fundraising Event are priced at $150 per ticket, and can be ordered by contacting Jayne Ferrante at The Business Development Group, Inc. (516) 222-0236. In addition, sponsorship packages are still available for this upscale event.

“The goal of Dress for Success is to empower women in need and help them to become financially secure, whether through providing them with the clothes they need for job interviews, helping with resume writing and business skills or providing them with confidence-building grooming services that enable them to successfully re-enter the workforce and become more independent,“ says Ingrid Fray, who founded Dress for Success Nassau County in October, 2002. “This year, we wanted to honor those individuals who are also committed to helping empower women in our community, and our four Gala Honorees reflect the spirit of the Dress for Success mission of helping women live up to their true potential.“
