The Long Island Women’s Agenda
(LIWA), the voice for Long Island Women, recently announced
that it is adopting Early Care & Education as a major
issue.
In making this announcement, LIWA has committed itself to
being an advocate and promoting education on this issue through
the LIWA website, the Agenda newsletter, and in future programming.
To kick off the initiative, LIWA is partnering with the Long
Fund For Women & Girls, and creating a seminar series
to educate members, the general public, and the business community
on early care and education issues, as well as pending legislative
changes. LIWA is also committed to reaching out and partnering
with other members of the business community to gain support
and facilitate education and development on these issues,
which directly impact the community as a whole.
LIWA is a not-for-profit advocacy organization that provides
a voice for Long Island Women on issues, policies and programs
affecting the lives of those living and working on Long Island.
LIWA has taken a leadership role on many matters including
women’s health, affordable housing and pay equity. For
