Invitation to a Special Private Performance

Executive and Life Coach Debbie Phillips will present two-time Tony Award-winning actress Judith Ivey in her one woman monologue, “Women on Fire,” written by author and playwright Eileen O’Garden on Thursday, October 23 at 7 p.m. at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City (38 Commerce St.). This specially created, private event is limited to the first 60 people who register at www.groupmv.com/wof.html .

“Women on Fire” is a one woman show with Ivey performing a set of monologues revealing women’s private emotions within contemporary culture. In more than 20 monologues, the show features characters, all played by Ivey, such as a New York ad exec, an African-American construction worker, an Irish caregiver, a Queens stockbroker, each on fire in her own way. With fear. Justice. Motherhood. Even shopping!

The play “Women on Fire” has earned phenomenal reviews in its opening runs and has been predicted as a tour de force on off-Broadway for film, stage and TV actress Ivey.

“"Women on Fire" is a rare and exquisite evening in the theater....lyrical, touching, substantial and ultimately profound.... Cancel all other appointments and treat yourself to this extraordinary evening of sublime writing, intelligent direction and stellar acting."
------The Southampton Press

“The characters defy cliché, ranging from a star-struck astronaut to an angry poet. The women share their inner passions with the audience.” ~ The Independent

Irene O’Garden is the playwright behind this unique experience. Her website is http://www.ireneogarden.com

Last year, The Southampton Press also had this to say:

“Irene O’Garden turns sometimes poetic, sometimes scathing, sometimes shattering portraits of women in pain and joy into a moveable feast. It’s a show that deserves a large exposure.”
