| The Bank of America
has committed to be the lead sponsor for the 2005 Girl Scouts
National Latina Conference.
This year¹s conference, hosted by the Girl Scouts of
Nassau County, will be held July 14th through July 17th at
the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale. In addition to their
generous donation, Bank of America will provide volunteers
to help at the conference and they will have a representative
from the bank sit on the Conference Committee.
"The Girl Scouts National Latina Conference is a great
way for hundreds of Latina girls to come together and discuss
a variety of issues," said Elena Perez, Market Development
Manager, Bank of America. "The Bank of America is very
proud to support such an important initiative."
Hundreds of Girl Scouts from around the country and their
chaperones will participate in the 2005 National Latina Conference.
This major "girls" conference will focus on challenges
affecting Latina girls ages 11 to 17, including personal safety,
education, literacy and self-esteem. Participants will have
a chance to explore their heritage, discover their potential,
prepare for the future and meet new friends. In addition,
non-Latina girls who attend the conference will have an opportunity
to learn more about the Latina culture.
"Hosting this year¹s National Latina Conference
is a great honor," said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director
of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. "We greatly
appreciate all of the support Bank of America is giving us
and look forward to working with them and all of our sponsors
to make this year¹s Latina Conference a success."
