Mindy Ferrentino Wolfle, a senior marketing professional on
Long Island, is a 2005 recipient of the Soroptimist International
“Making A Difference For Women” Award, to be presented
by the Nassau County Chapter at a gala being held on June
21, 2005 at the Coral House in Baldwin. According to Fran
Karliner, President-Elect of the Chapter, Ms. Ferrentino Wolfle
exemplifies the principles of the award. “The Making
a Difference for Women Award acknowledges women who are working
to improve the lives of women and girls through their personal
or professional activities. Their efforts help to promote
the issues that are important to the Soroptimist organization.
Honorees are women who have worked in extraordinary ways to
benefit women and girls. Mindy Ferrentino Wolfle is one such
woman. She sets an example for others on Long Island as a
model of giving back to the community.” Ms. Ferrentino
Wolfle is the president of Neptune Marketing LLC, a firm she
founded in 2005.
Ms. Ferrentino Wolfle has been honored by the Girl Scouts
of Nassau County and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
for her outstanding contributions to the business, civic and
cultural enrichment of Long Island. She was a founding board
member of the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce, New
York Affiliate, and created the Diversity and Cultural Awareness
Awards for the organization. She is actively involved in numerous
philanthropic and civic endeavors, including the Long Island
Fund for Women & Girls, the Long Island Alzheimer’s
Foundation, and the Long Island Center for Business &
Professional Women, where she served as an Executive Board
member for four years. Ms. Ferrentino Wolfle is serving her
second term on the Board of Directors of the Public Relations
Professionals of Long Island, and in 2003, was named Top In-House
Marketing Executive by Long Island Business News and the Long
Island Advertising Club.
Founded in 1921, Soroptimist is an international organization
for business and professional women who provide volunteer
service to their communities. Almost 100,000 Soroptimists
in about 120 countries and territories contribute time and
financial support to community–based and international
projects benefiting women and girls. The name, Soroptimist,
means “best for women,” and that’s what
the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women
at their best working to help other women to be their best.
