Hauppauge, NY - March 12, 2003 -- The Long Island
Convention and Visitors Bureau & Sports Commission is pleased
to welcome back Linda Savino, CMP, as Director of Sales in its Meetings
& Conventions Department, effective January 21, 2003.
Ms. Savino worked for the LICVB&SC from 1995
until 1999, prior to moving to Las Vegas to serve as Marketing Director
of Lasvegas.com,
Hawaii.com and
Casinogaming.com.
A New Yorker at heart, she returned to Long Island in 2001 and worked
for Long Island Hotels, LLC as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
"I'm very happy to be back at Long Island Convention
and Visitors Bureau & Sports Commission, working with Michael
Hollander and the rest of the staff," Ms. Savino noted. "I
truly enjoyed developing a great working relationship with the organization's
members during my previous four years here. I feel as if I've come
back home."
Ms. Savino's background includes ten years of demonstrated
achievement in all phases of sales and marketing operations. In
her former position, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for
Long Island Hotels LLC in Hauppauge, she was responsible for all
sales and marketing activities for two hotel properties, managing
two sales teams and overseeing community relations.
Other experience includes serving as Director of
Marketing Development for Donrey Media Interactive in Las Vegas,
Nevada, directing marketing strategies for three websites as well
as developing their marketing plans and budgets. Prior to that,
she was Marketing Communications Manager for GetThere, a Sabre Company
also located in Las Vegas, where she was responsible for all media
relations while working closely with the firm's Public Relations
Agency. Throughout her distinguished career, Ms. Savino has received
many honors, including the Certified Meeting Professional Designation,
which she received in July 1999. She holds a Bachelor of Science
degree in Travel and Tourism from Niagara University.
