(Hempstead,
NY)...The Education & Assistance Corporation (EAC) will
be hosting the Spring Into Fashion Luncheon on
Wednesday, May 23, 2001 from 11:30am-2:30pm at the
deServersky Center located on the Old Westbury campus of the
New York Institute of Technology. The luncheon honoree is Sharon G. Grosser, Executive Director
of the Roslyn Savings Foundation.
The event will feature a fashion show provided by
Saks Fifth Avenue, high-lighting business attire for women
and men.
The
proceeds from this luncheon will benefit Suited For
Success, one of EAC’s newest programs which follows
the national model, Dress For Success.
Suited For Success will supply clothing to
men as well. Initial funding for this program was provided
by the Roslyn Savings Foundation.
EAC’s
programs successfully place over 400 people in employment
each year. These are people who have barriers to finding
work and the concept of Suited for Success is to
give them the proper attire they need for interviews.
Since employment interviewers can take just thirty seconds
to develop an impression of a candidate, it is essential
that clients are dressed in appropriate and attractive
business attire. The EAC boutique is located in the
Hempstead office and clients will be outfitted at no
charge.
EAC
helps more then 45,000 people each year with 55 programs
that provide educational, vocational, counseling and
mediation services, rehabilitation for non-violent
offenders and support to the aged.
The
cost for the luncheon is only $60, plus there are
sponsorship opportunities available.
Some of this year’s sponsors include Art Effects,
Garden City Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, JP
Morgan Chase, and New York Paving, Inc.
