On October 18, 2001 Women on the Job's
Where Are the Women? Project will hold the first of three
breakfast seminars at the Meville Marriott from 8:30 to 10
a.m. These workshops are designed to help advance women
to corporate board positions. In a discussion moderated
by John Kominicki, publisher of Long Island Business News,
Sheila Wellington, President of Catalyst, Inc. will
present the latest information on the status of women in
the boardroom. Strategies to increase the presence of
women on corporate boards will be discussed. The
breakfast is open to anyone with interest in changing the
profile of corporate boards, but women executives in
particular are encouraged to attend.
For twenty years
Catalyst, Inc. has been doing research and working with
Fortune 500 companies to increase the numbers of women in
board positions. Sheila Wellington has been president of
Catalyst since 1994 and is the author of Being Your Own
Mentor.
She will present a
historical perspective of where we are and how to move
forward with greater momentum.
