(Woodbury) – One of 15 journalists throughout the
country, News 12’s Judy Martin was chosen for fellowship
by the National Press Foundation. Every year the NPF
awards scholarships to a Finance and Economics Seminar in
Washington, D.C. which focuses on the national state of
the economy and the markets such as the NASDAQ and New
York Stock Exchange, that drive the economy.
For five days Ms.
Martin is meeting with the national leaders that take part
in the policy and decision making process within the
national and Washington financial institutions. It’s
knowledge that will be an asset to her finance portfolio
at News 12 and adds to the underlying foundation for her
monthly pieces on LI Women.com.
Ms. Martin is
currently an anchor and the Personal Finance editor at
News 12 Long Island. Her segments often air on the four
other News 12 affiliates in the tri-state area.
Assistant News Director Jim Whitman has worked with
Judy for more than a decade and said, “I’ve seen Judy
grow into a journalist of high caliber, and she has a
penchant for being able to tackle tough issues and make
them understandable to our viewers.”
