2005 TBIO Leadership Conference

Girls ages 8-16 from across the country are invited to attend the Turn Beauty Inside Out Leadership Conference at Hilton Universal City in Los Angeles, CA April 13-15, 2005.

The vision of the TBIO 2005 Campaign is to influence people of all ages to not only ask why aren’t women and girls portrayed positively in movies but to give them resources, knowledge and skills so that they can create their own opportunities.

The Leadership conference focuses specifically on girls’ ages 8-16 and their parents/mentors. Girls Track (ages 8-16) includes workshops about media literacy & gender, youth activism, self-image and self-esteem, public communication skills, and careers in the entertainment industry. The Parents/Mentors Track will include speakers and workshops about media literacy, communicating with girls, mentorship, working with youth groups and advocacy for children's rights. The conference includes a variety of active learning workshops and dialogue with media & entertainment industry professionals.
